1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bridico ("Bridico", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you use our website, Chrome Extension, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope & Roles

This Policy covers: (a) visitors to our website(s); (b) registered users and subscribers of the Bridico Chrome Extension; and (c) individuals who contact us for support or business inquiries. For most processing, Bridico acts as the data controller. Our vetted providers (e.g., hosting, AI processing, and billing) act as data processors acting strictly under our documented instructions.

3. The Data We Collect

Bridico operates as a Chrome Extension. We prioritize data minimization and secure sandboxed processing.

Extension Data Processing

  • User-Triggered Processing Only: Bridico does not passively read or transmit your continuous browsing activity or keystrokes. The extension registers keyboard shortcut listeners to detect when you invoke a Bridico action, but does not record or transmit what you type. We process text only when you explicitly trigger an AI feature (e.g., Enhance, Rewrite, Summarize, Expand, Fix Grammar) via the right-click context menu or a keyboard shortcut.
  • Selected Text: When you trigger an AI feature, we read the text you have highlighted or selected in the active text field and transmit it securely to our servers for AI processing.
  • Page Context: To provide context-aware results (especially on AI chat platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini), Bridico may also read surrounding page content from the active tab at the moment you trigger a feature. This page context (up to 20,000 characters) is transmitted alongside your selected text to our AI processing servers so the AI can understand the conversational context. This data is not stored permanently; it is used only for that single AI request.
  • Platform Detection: We detect which website you are on (e.g., ChatGPT, Gmail, LinkedIn) from the tab URL to optimize our AI responses for that platform. Only a platform label (e.g., "gmail") is transmitted, not the full URL.
  • Excluded Sensitive Data: Our extension is designed to exclude designated sensitive fields. Password fields, hidden fields, and file inputs are programmatically blocked from Bridico features. We do not collect, process, or transmit passwords, financial information, or protected health data.

Passive Auto-Profiling ("Profile")

  • Business Context & Preferences: To provide you with highly personalized AI assistance, Bridico uses passive profiling. After you use AI features, the extension periodically sends a sample of your recent prompt history (input text and AI-generated outputs) to our AI provider to analyze your writing style, tone, professional role, and recurring business context. This analysis produces a persistent "Profile" - a short text summary of how you write and what you do. This Profile is stored in our database and is sent alongside future AI requests so the AI can generate personalized results. You have full control to view, edit, or delete this Profile at any time within the extension.

Personal data you provide

  • Identity & contact: Name and email address (obtained from your Google account during sign-in).
  • Account & subscription: Plan tier, subscription status, billing email.
  • Feedback: Thumbs-up/thumbs-down ratings on AI outputs.
  • Support: Messages, feedback, and bug reports you send us.

Automatically collected data

  • Usage Data: Which AI features you use, prompt type (e.g., "enhance", "fix_grammar"), and the AI model used for each request.
  • Device/Tech: IP address (logged by our hosting provider), browser version, and general location (derived from IP by our hosting infrastructure).

Payment data

We do not store full payment card numbers. Payments and subscription billing are handled entirely by our billing provider, Polar.sh. Your email address is shared with Polar to identify your account during checkout. We receive only limited transaction metadata (e.g., subscription status, customer ID, cancellation events) via webhooks for account reconciliation.

4. Why We Use Your Data (Purposes & Legal Bases)

  • Provide the Service: To authenticate you via Google OAuth, operate the Chrome Extension, and deliver context-aware AI text generation (contract; legitimate interests).
  • Passive Profiling for Personalization: To automatically build your Profile so our AI can write in your unique voice and business context. You may delete your Profile at any time within the extension (consent; legitimate interests).
  • Improve & Secure Bridico: For product analytics, debugging, and preventing abuse or fraud (legitimate interests).
  • Communications: For transactional emails (receipts, service notices). Marketing emails are sent only with your consent/opt-in where legally required (contract; consent; legitimate interests).
  • Billing & Tax: For subscription management, invoicing, and fraud prevention (contract; legal obligation; legitimate interests).
  • Compliance: To respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, and protect rights, safety, and security (legal obligation; legitimate interests).

5. AI Processing (Important)

Bridico's core value relies on advanced artificial intelligence. Here is exactly what is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (powering the Claude models), when you use Bridico:

  • On each AI feature use: Your selected text, surrounding page context (if available), detected platform label, your Profile, and a small number of your previously liked (thumbs-up) prompt examples are sent securely to Anthropic to generate a personalized response.
  • For Profile building: Periodically (at most once per hour), a sample of your recent prompt inputs and outputs is sent to Anthropic to analyze and update your Profile. This happens automatically in the background after you use an AI feature.
  • Zero Training Policy: Anthropic does not use data sent via their API to train their foundational models. Your text is processed to generate the requested output and is not retained by Anthropic for any other purpose. We do not sell your data.

6. Service Providers & Sharing

We share data only as needed to operate Bridico. Categories of recipients include:

  • Hosting & Database (Supabase): Hosts our application database, user authentication, your Profile, and your prompt history. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • AI Processing (Anthropic): Processes your selected text, page context, and Profile to generate AI responses. Also processes prompt history for Profile building.
  • Billing & Payments (Polar.sh): Manages subscription checkout, billing, and invoices. Receives your email address to identify your customer account.
  • Authentication (Google): We use Google OAuth (via the Chrome Identity API) to authenticate you. Google provides us with your name, email, and profile picture.
  • Website Analytics (Vercel): Our marketing website uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service that collects anonymized page view data. No personal data is collected by this service.
  • Legal & Safety: To authorities or relevant parties to comply with the law, respond to legal processes, or protect the rights and safety of Bridico and our users.

7. International Transfers

We may process data in Israel, the EEA, the United States, and other locations where our providers operate. When transferring personal data from the EEA/UK/Switzerland to countries without a recognized adequacy decision, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum/IDTA as applicable) and implement additional technical safeguards.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services:

  • Profile & History Data: Bridico provides a "History" feature allowing you to review your past AI enhancements. Your prompt inputs, AI outputs, feedback ratings, and Profile are stored in our database so you can access them across sessions. This data is retained as long as your account is active. You can clear your prompt history or delete your Profile at any time within the extension.
  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account directly from within the extension via Settings > Danger Zone > Delete My Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your prompt history, AI profile, feedback ratings, preferences, and subscription data. For legal, safety, and support purposes, we retain a minimal record consisting of your user ID, display name, and email address. Your authentication login remains so you can return and start fresh at any time. If you wish to have your retained identity record fully removed as well, please email us at tom@bridico.com and we will process the request within 30 days.
  • Billing & Tax Records: Retained for 7 years (or longer if required by local law).

9. Your Rights & Controls

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have extensive rights regarding your personal data. Within the Bridico Chrome Extension, you have direct controls to:

  • View and edit your auto-generated Profile.
  • Delete your Profile.
  • Clear your entire prompt history.
  • Delete your account and all associated data (Settings > Danger Zone > Delete My Account).
  • Sign out (which clears your local session).

For data export, full removal of your retained identity record (user ID, name, email), or any other data subject request, please email us directly at tom@bridico.com. We are always happy to help. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

10. Extension Permissions

The Bridico Chrome Extension requires the following permissions to function. We do not use any permissions beyond what is necessary for the features described in this policy:

  • contextMenus: To add Bridico AI features (Enhance, Rewrite, etc.) to your right-click context menu.
  • activeTab: To access the content of the tab you are currently viewing when you trigger a Bridico feature.
  • scripting: To inject UI elements (loading animations, result overlays, feedback buttons) into the active page.
  • storage: To store your authentication session, cached preferences, and keyboard shortcut settings locally on your device.
  • identity: To authenticate you via Google OAuth sign-in.
  • tabs: To detect the current platform (e.g., Gmail, ChatGPT) and open new tabs (e.g., billing portal, upgrade page).
  • Host permission (<all_urls>): Required so the content script can operate on any website where you choose to use Bridico. The content script only activates when you explicitly trigger a Bridico feature; it does not passively read or monitor page content.

Our marketing website does not use tracking cookies. Vercel Web Analytics is cookie-free and does not track individual users.

11. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your data. This includes sandboxed execution within the Chrome Extension (Manifest V3), encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest within our Supabase database, role-based access control, least-privilege principles, and vendor security reviews. While no system is 100% secure, we prioritize the protection of your business data. If we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.

12. Children

Bridico is a business tool not directed to children. You must be 18 or older to use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

13. Automated Processing & Profiling

Bridico uses automated algorithms to analyze your writing context and prompt history to build your Profile and generate text enhancements. Specifically, after you use AI features, your recent prompt inputs and outputs are periodically sent to our AI provider to infer your writing style, professional role, and business context. We do not use this profiling to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you (e.g., we do not use it for credit scoring, employment decisions, or legal profiling). The profiling is used strictly to provide you with a customized, frictionless AI writing assistant. You can view, edit, or delete your Profile at any time.

14. Global Privacy Standards & Regional Disclosures

Bridico is committed to strict global privacy standards and complies with applicable regional data protection laws:

  • EEA/UK/Swiss residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or limit/opt-out of processing; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to withdraw consent for passive profiling without affecting prior processing. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • US residents (e.g., CA/CO/CT/UT/VA): You have the right to know/access, delete, correct, port your data, and to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal data for targeted advertising. Bridico does not sell your personal data.
  • Israel (Amendment No. 13): We fully comply with the strengthened data protection rights under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law Amendment No. 13 (effective August 2025), which aligns with European privacy standards. This includes enhanced transparency regarding passive profiling, mandatory breach notifications within 72 hours, strict consent requirements, and the right to lodge complaints with the relevant Privacy Protection Authority.

15. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our product or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here. If we make material changes (such as changing how we handle extension data or what data is sent to AI providers), we will notify you by email or via a prominent in-app alert. Material changes affecting your rights will require your renewed consent. Your continued use of Bridico after the "Last updated" date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
